As we journey farther and farther into the depths of the cold, dark months of winter, comes the annual turning back of the clocks. While we do get an extra hour in the day to do with what we wish, I do not care for the sun setting at 5:00. In past years I would just cave in, put my jammies on, in what seems like the middle of the afternoon, and mope about the house turning on all the lights.
This year I decided to take a different approach and try to embrace the day instead of dreading it. I called Phriend and as always she was ready for an adventure. With cameras packed, we crossed the bridge, parked ourselves in the sand and waited for the sun to set. I can now take comfort in knowing we are one day closer to Spring.

The other evening during the debate over trying to decide where our travels should take us, Asbury Park or fields to go apple picking, Phriend reminded me of the, soon to be, celebration of Johnny Appleseed’s birthday. But as I mentioned that evening we heard the ocean calling us and Asbury won the toss up. So in keeping with the spirit of Johnny’s birthday, I went apple picking today. I got a bit carried away and catch up in the feel of the fall harvest. Soon we will have apple pie, apple turnovers, apple sauce . . . I currently have enough apples to supply the free world!

Friday PhotoShare ~
My neighbor created an elaborate Halloween display, one of which scares all children young and old. I am not one who enjoys being frightened and prefers Halloween trick or treaters to be dressed as their favorite Disney character.
As of a late, I have been playing with some night photography and decided to take advantage of this neighbor's display. Somehow his yard of terror didn’t seem to be so frightful when I was armed with my camera.
Photo was taken @ ISO LO1, f/5.6, 1 sec. Please critique, any and all comments are always welcome.
