The Patagonia Cavy ~ large rodent which resembles the hare. Adults weigh in at 40 lbs. When being eyed up, as a good snack, by a larger creature they can reach speeds of 35 miles/hour. However, it appears this poor little fellow was having difficulties out running the pesky, little black flies.

I don't think I've ever seen one of these before, so thanks for sharing this with us. I hope those pesky flies went away!
Oh, the poor little fellow. Black flies are awful.
I just had to Google the Patagonian cavy, and I see it is much bigger than I guessed from the picture. This certainly falls under the category of "Learn something new every day" -- thank you!!

Love the photo! I've never seen one of these before. I love learning new stuff!
So smart to use the branches to itch with.
I'm a rodent dog, but I don't think I'd want to run into that big!
Nubbin wiggles,

The fur looks like hare too. Good shot!
Never heard of this critter before! I don't think I'd want to run into him though. He is BIG!
