137/228

I was uncertain as to what subject to use for today’s photo. I had taken several photos late last evening but I wasn’t really happy with the results. So after promising B dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, he agreed on going to the refuge with me. As we entered the 8 mile road there sat this Red-Tailed Hawk.

I have a habit of looking at the picture first, then reading the write-up and I just about freaked out that you had rented the 500mm....lol. Was he really that close to you? What an inredible shot!

That is amazing to be so close! Three or four years ago, before I had anything but a point and shoot and a camera phone, we pulled into a gas station in the foothills of the Sierras and there was a red-tailed hawk just sitting on top of the gas station roof. Wish that would happen now- what a photo op! And then the other time was the hawk rescue, which you might have read about on my blog (no good photos from either event). How wonderful to have that area close to you with so many birds! And as I said- great shot! You should frame it!
