Part III ~ Twin Lighthouse

On our way to Sandy Hook we took the short detour up the steep road leading to the mountain top lighthouse. Over the last years I have tried, unsuccessfully, to capture this castle style Twin Lighthouse in it’s entirety. It sits high on a hill, 200 feet above sea level, and when you’re shooting with a 28mm there isn’t room to back up or move over before nearing the cliff's edge. So I have previously posted parts of this light. Last week when I purchased a 10 - 24mm, I knew I wanted to give my new lens a workout at the Twin.

to view the skies around the world head over to SkyWatch Friday.

Great photo!! The out of shape perspective gives it a sinister look!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

I can see how challenging this would be … the result is quite magical, though. This lighthouse has the look of a castle. :)

Trish, this is absolutely beautiful, the sky is stunning. The lighthouse and the effects you have done to the photo are outstanding. I have just gone back over your other posts and will earmark you for further reading.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and many people have tried to knock Balance Rock off its spot....tow rope, dynamite(they got caught!), backing into it with a one tonne truck all to no avail!
Have a great weekend.

P.S. I love the idea of Project 365

It's already proved itself to be a good purchase! I remember going there with my family and not being able to back far enough up to get the whole thing in- that darn cliff! Love the angle and the way the wide angle tilts the north tower.

This is by far one of the most interesting photos I've seen on SWF. Your lens has a good thing going: you behind it. xoxo from The Prairie.
