My World Tuesday: 10.21

My contribution to the very first My World Tuesday; the New York skyline taken on 10.18.08. Although, the attacks on the World Trade Center happened over seven years ago, I still can’t get use to the “new” skyline. If you look close you can see the cranes, which are currently being used during the construction of the new buildings. The asterisk shows the location where the Twin Towers once stood.

Nice skylinen photo, and though I'm not from there, I've been there and seen enough photos that it still looks "weird" to me, too.

Sad and forward looking alike!
A great post for MyWorld!
Cheers, Klaus

P.S.: Please note for future MyWorld posts, to enter name and country in Mr. Linky, which seems appropriate for a "World" Meme!

I have that same reaction - it can't have been seven years already, and surely it's not real.

I bet there is no one that will ever get used to them not being there.

I hear you. It must be very difficult and still painful each time you look out and not see those towers.

Thanks for sharing this part of your world and the sentiments.

See you next week.

A very recognisable city skylne, but seeing it without the Twin Towers does bring a lump to the throat. Marvellous one to start with.

Great capture of a beautiful skyline! You are right, it just doesn't look the same without the Twin Towers.

What a gorgeous skyline but at the same time it's sad to look at.

It still looks so empty without them. The skyline is bare. :(

Thanks for the wonderful trip around your place. So very much different from my place but I do wanna share my place also to you. Great job.

Sad to see the missing teeth in the skyline, but N.Y. has seen many changes and has the courage to bounce back from that disaster too.

Quite a stirring image! Beautiful and sad! Empty and full of emotion!

Nice picture. I agree with some many other commenters that it doesn't seem possible it's been that many years, but OTOH in some ways it still seems totally unreal. I guess if you live there you're reminded every day by the altered skyline in a way the rest of us aren't. Thanks for sharing.

I totally agree, it's just not the same skyline anymore. I was watching a movie the other day and there were the towers, I always find that kind of spooky.
