Day 2 of captivity, the family has been busy the last couple of days repairing the shed. For her safety and to keep her from getting into trouble, "Yellow Girl" has been confined to a small area of the fenced-in deck. She is not happy about this and after 2 days has started to climb the fence.

Our shed has been in need of repair, so the family came down to swing some hammers.
But it looks more like one guy is working and the others are standing around watching him. LOL

Behind our house is a path which leads to a 600 acre wood. Walking along this path we travel down to the bay, far away from the noise, commotion and general craziness of the world; there is peace, quiet and solitude. As we watch the dogs running and jumping among the field of reeds, muzzles to the ground searching for scents of wildlife and other treasures; those of which humans have no understanding, we find our spirits are renewed.

"Yellow Girl" and I took a walk back down to the trestle today. It is in a somewhat remote location and thus is a favorite hangout for the town's teenagers.
The creek which it passes over is a popular and frequented place for canoes and kayakers. I have paddled this twisted and winding creek numerous times.
I don't visit often but should as it is so pretty and peaceful.

B and I took the dogs for a walk down to the old train trestle, so I could play around some more with the borrowed fisheye.
Phriend may not be getting it back . . . for awhile!

B and I went over to the boardwalk last evening, the air was still and temps at 78 degrees. What a wonderful night for pizza at our favorite place and a stroll. I tried to capture a shadow photo of B and I by the fence. I didn't have my settings correct and the exposure was way to long. I moved the camera and captured the nearby light, creating the etching. I kind of liked it and it is different from any thing I have posted prior. So for today a mistake made into the POD.

With the thermometer peaking out at 92, it was the record high for us. After spending some time this morning cooling off in the ocean waters, B and I decided to take the girls back this evening. Since the official summer season has not started here, other than the surf fishermen, we had the beach to ownselves. Great fun for both man and beast!

As the temperatures rise and Spring arrives, I look forward to the annual migration. This morning I ventured to the refuge to see if there were any early arrivals. Although he is not a migrate, I did spy this Red Wing Black Bird enjoying his morning meal.

For as long as I can remember, I have liked bare trees. I have always felt that they have many stories to tell. They can feel the earth between their roots, their branches reach high up in the sky, they have been the home to many wildlife critters. Yes, I am certain they all have their own story. All we need to do is look and listen.
Each day on my walk in the old farm, I pass this tree. It is one of my favorites. The old village in which it lived is abandoned and the residents long gone. But I can see and read it's tales.

This afternoon I had the opportunity to take "Yellow Girl" out on a solo exploration. Meaning no "Black Dog" was there to interfere with her every move. It gave me the chance to see her little personality bloom. She is just too darn cute.

It seems like it has been forever since B and I have had time off together to just get out and play around. What a treat this evening was, with the sun setting later and the tempertures rising, we headed down to the old train station (before stopping for some ice cream!)
